Pow Wow Berlin Dresden 2008

Also this year the Pow Wow Berlin Dresden 2008 was hosted by Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH (BTM) and Dresden-Werbung und Tourismus GmbH (DWT).

230 tour operators and travel agencies with interest in Berlin and Dresden as a destination were invited as trade visitors.

The participants discovered the diversified tourist capabilities and the cultural variety of Berlin and Dresden during 3 ½ days.
A combination of trade fair, new attractive sightseeing tours and different evening events made the 9th edition
of the trade meeting to an informative and efficient communication forum.

Mr. Nerger (CEO of Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH), Mr. Zonneveld (Managing Director of Krongut Bornstedt) und Ms. Coulin (CEO of Dresden Werbung und Tourismus GmbH) welcomed the exhibitors and trade visitors to the Pow Wow Berlin Dresden 2008 at the “Krongut Bornstedt” in Potsdam.
The welcome evening event in the former country estate belonging to the Prussian coronet gave the visitors the opportunity to get in contact with each other or to intensify existing contacts.


The Pow Wow trade fair took place on Saturday in the South Entrance at Messe Berlin. The location, with its light-flooded and modern atmosphere created a dynamic and stimulating environment, that facilitated interviews and discussions. From 10am to 4pm 120 exhibitors from Berlin, Brandenburg and Dresden presented their business portfolio.
After the trade fair the visitors had the opportunity to discover Berlin on their own.
Saturday evening the participants enjoyed one of Berlin’s top shows, stage performances or concerts.
The selection option ranged from “Stars in concert” at the Estrel or “Cose fan Tutti” at the “Komische Oper” to a premiere at the “Wintergarten Varieté”.

Sunday morning the Pow Wow visitors could choose between several city sightseeing tours like a historical sightseeing tour, a tour through Berlins trendy districts and the innovative videobustour.

122 trade visitors took the chance and attended the post-tour
to Pow Wow in Dresden, which started on Sunday afternoon.

Having arrived in Dresden, visitors had the chance to get to know Dresden on a sightseeing tour.
The exclusive evening event of the “Sarrasani Circus” at the “Trocadero“ fascinated the participants with a combination of dine, show and entertainment.

After different city sightseeing tours in Dresden, like a trip to Meißen, a visit to the Academy of Fine Arts and the “Sophienkeller” as well as a walking tour in the historical centre of Dresden, the program of the Pow Wow Berlin Dresden finished on Monday afternoon.
